Stay at Misselthwaite

There are places built for efficiency.
And there are places built for exhale.

Tucked inside a historic Victorian manor in Erie, Misselthwaite is designed for guests who crave softness without sacrificing depth—the kind of people who notice lighting, who travel with books, who rearrange furniture in Airbnb photos in their heads, who understand that hospitality is less about luxury and more about being deeply considered.

This is not a performative wellness retreat.
It is not a maximalist influencer fantasy.
It is not a hotel pretending to be a home.

It is a living house with creaky floors, warm tea, garden paths, layered textures, candlelight, old-world beauty, and the quiet understanding that many of us are profoundly tired.

At launch, our Bed & Breakfast experience is intentionally intimate and low-volume. Rather than offering traditional concierge service, we focus on creating an environment that feels thoughtful, sensory, and restorative from the moment you arrive.

A few of the details we’re especially excited about:

— A curated bedding menu, allowing guests to choose their preferred sheets and textures—silk, linen, crisp cotton, and more
— Cozy communal spaces designed for conversation, reading, reflection, and late-night tea
— Garden paths and hidden outdoor nooks that invite wandering
— A hospitality philosophy rooted in care rather than performance
— An atmosphere that feels welcoming to artists, introverts, queers, neurodivergent guests, romantics, and anyone who has ever wanted to disappear into a house for a little while and emerge softer

Whether you’re visiting Erie for a gathering, a quiet weekend away, a creative reset, or simply because something about this place called to you—we hope Misselthwaite feels less like checking into accommodations and more like being folded gently into the life of the house.

Welcome home.
